No politics on Dadri incident: Union Minister Mahesh Sharma

After the mob killing of Iqlakh over beef consumption rumours, Union Minister Mahesh Sharma urged against politicising the issue, calling it an “accident” and demanding a fair CBI or state probe to punish the guilty without targeting innocents. Sharma, also the local BJP MP, condemned giving the incident a communal colour and assured Muslim families of protection.

AIMIM leader Asaduddin Owaisi, after meeting the victim’s family, alleged it was a pre-planned, religion-based killing and criticised Sharma and PM Modi for not condemning it strongly. UP CM Akhilesh Yadav promised strict action against the culprits and accused certain forces of disturbing India’s secular ethos, also calling for a beef export ban.

The killing has triggered political blame games between BJP and SP, with Owaisi demanding murder charges and a time-bound trial for the accused.
