A new international cargo terminal is being developed at Dholera International Airport in Gujarat, which is expected to become a key hub for air freight in India. In the first phase, the airport will feature a 3.2 km runway and a dedicated cargo complex, including a 10,700 sq ft terminal. International operations are expected to begin by June or July 2025, with an initial handling capacity of about 20,000 tonnes in the first year, which will expand in later phases. Designed under a spoke-hub model, the terminal will strengthen India’s logistics network and position Dholera as a major player in global cargo movement.
