Joint Statement: Visit of President of the UAE, His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, to India

President of the UAE, H.H. Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, visited India on 19 January 2026 at the invitation of PM Narendra Modi, reaffirming the strength of the India–UAE Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, which has grown steadily over the past decade.

Both leaders reviewed wide-ranging cooperation and set an ambitious target to double bilateral trade to USD 200 billion by 2032, building on the success of CEPA. They agreed to accelerate collaboration across investments, MSMEs, infrastructure, energy, defence, technology, space, AI, education and culture.

Key highlights included discussions on UAE partnership in Dholera SIR, expansion of energy and nuclear cooperation, a 10-year LNG supply agreement, deeper financial integration, enhanced defence and security ties, and stronger people-to-people and educational exchanges.

The leaders also reaffirmed a zero-tolerance stance on terrorism, shared views on regional and global issues, and reiterated their commitment to peace, stability and sustainable development, marking a new milestone in India–UAE relations.
