The approval was formally communicated to the Dholera International Airport Company Ltd (DIACL) — a Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) established by the state government to implement the project.
Following the clearance, Chief Minister Anandiben Patel extended her gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi on behalf of the people of Gujarat.
The proposed airport is a key component of the Dholera Special Investment Region (SIR) and will be developed over 1,426 hectares of land at an estimated cost of ₹1,712 crore. Located approximately 30 km from Ahmedabad, the airport will be constructed in three phases.
According to the project report prepared by the Airports Authority of India (AAI), the first phase alone will see an investment of ₹716 crore, laying the groundwork for a world-class aviation hub to support the region’s rapid industrial growth.
