Gujarat Govt Approves Transfer of 28,503 Hectares for Dholera SIR

In a major push to accelerate the development of Dholera Smart City, the Gujarat government has approved the transfer of 28,503 hectares of land to the Dholera Special Investment Region Development Authority (DSIRDA) — the special purpose vehicle tasked with developing the region.

The decision was taken during a cabinet meeting in Gandhinagar, chaired by Chief Minister Anandiben Patel. The land, owned by the state government, will be transferred at a rate of ₹600 per sq metre, making Gujarat the majority stakeholder with a 51% share in the development authority, according to Health Minister and government spokesperson Nitin Patel.

Dholera SIR, spanning 920 sq km and located 110 km from Ahmedabad, is one of the flagship nodes under the Delhi-Mumbai Industrial Corridor (DMIC) and is being developed as a model smart city and future business hub.
