chevron_rightConstruction of essential infrastructure—such as roads, power, gas, water, telecom, drainage, and waste treatment—will begin in Q1 2015 for Dholera Smart City, one of the key nodes under the ₹90 billion Delhi–Mumbai Industrial Corridor (DMIC).
The development will start with a 22 sq km “activation zone”, initiating progress across the larger 920 sq km project. According to Jagdish Salgaonkar, Programme Director of Dholera SIR and SVP at AECOM, 60% of conceptual designs, environmental impact assessments, and land acquisition processes are already complete.
The DMIC Trust has allocated ₹3,000 crore for this initial phase, complementing funding from the Japan Investment Bank. Further, industrial development is targeted to follow by 2018–19, once core infrastructure is in place.
