chevron_rightThe Delhi-Mumbai Industrial Corridor Development Corporation (DMICDC) has finalized a landmark land allotment policy, unlocking 10,050 acres of developed industrial land across four key nodes:
For the first time, industries will be able to acquire this land—developed with trunk infrastructure—at base rates ranging from ₹2,100 to ₹7,800 per sq metre, depending on the location.
The Centre and participating states have already invested ₹14,000 crore in land development, with funds channelled through the DMIC Trust. While the Centre finances infrastructure, states provide land, making the model scalable and self-sustaining.
DMICDC CEO Alkesh Kumar Sharma confirmed that global anchor investors have shown interest in Dholera and Shendra-Bidkin. As part of the DMIC model, land sale proceeds will fund the acquisition and development of new sites.
Approximately 60% of DMIC land will be dedicated to industrial use, with the rest planned for residential, commercial, and social infrastructure.
On the global front, DMICDC is engaging with the South Korean Exim Bank, US-India Business Council, India-Korea Business Forum, and others to attract major investments. Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) has already committed $4.5 billion via soft loans and is evaluating metro rail projects in Gujarat and Haryana.
With a $90–100 billion investment target by 2040, the 1,504-km DMIC is set to become the world’s largest infrastructure project and a catalyst for India’s goal of raising manufacturing’s GDP share to 25%.
