chevron_rightIndia’s semiconductor manufacturing mission has received a major boost as ASML and Tata Electronics announced a strategic partnership for the upcoming semiconductor fabrication plant in Dholera Smart City.
The partnership will support the development of India’s first commercial 300mm semiconductor fabrication facility at Dholera, Gujarat. ASML, globally known for its advanced lithography technology used in chip manufacturing, will provide cutting-edge lithography tools and semiconductor solutions for the mega project.
The Dholera semiconductor fab is being developed with an estimated investment of nearly $11 billion and is expected to manufacture chips for industries such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), automotive, mobile devices, telecom, electronics, and advanced computing.
This collaboration marks a historic milestone for India’s semiconductor ecosystem and positions Dholera Smart City as one of the country’s biggest upcoming technology and industrial hubs. The project is also expected to generate thousands of high-skilled jobs, strengthen India’s supply chain, and reduce dependence on imported semiconductor chips.
According to official statements, Tata Electronics and ASML will also work together on talent development, semiconductor research infrastructure, and supply chain resilience to ensure long-term success of the Dholera semiconductor plant.
Experts believe this development will significantly increase global investor attention toward Dholera Smart City, especially in sectors like semiconductor manufacturing, electronics, data centers, renewable energy, and industrial infrastructure. As India pushes toward becoming a global semiconductor manufacturing destination, Dholera is emerging as the center of this technological transformation.
